TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Children's Discovery Center set a new record.
The more than 800 visitors the center welcomed Wednesday was the most-ever in one day.
The facility on the southwest corner of Gage Park is also on pace for a record-breaking week as guests continue to visit during spring break. Just this week, visitors have come from 67 different Kansas communities and nine different states.
Executive Director Joanne Morrell says visitors will have reason to return this summer, too. Construction is underway on an outdoore water adventure, featuring a small waterfall, bridge and other interactive elements. It is set to open June 1.
