TOPEKA, Kan (AP)-- Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt says recent work is protecting consumers and taxpayers.
Schmidt's office says that during his first three years in office they've raised more than $357,000,000 in recovery funds.
The money comes from funds recovered between 2011 and 2013 by the consumer protection division, medicaid fraud and abuse division and tobacco enforcement unit.
The tobacco enforcement unit had the largest recovery, $183,000,000 over three years.
The consumer protection division has recovered a three-year total of $109,000,000, followed by the medicaid fraud and abuse division's $65,000,000.
