TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansans took time Monday to remember the tragic events of the holocaust.

The Louisberg High School select choir was among those participating in a commemoration service at the Kansas History Museum. It also included readings of personal accounts of holocaust events and its impact on our history.

Gov. Sam Brownback also attended, presenting a proclamation for the event.

The service culminated with the lighting of six candles, representing the six million Jewish people killed during the holocaust.
