KSU-Salina Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing

SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -- A helicopter from the K-State Salina campus made an emergency landing today south of Salina.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers located the helicopter in a wheat field near the McPherson/Saline County line.

Troopers said a mechanical problem prompted the pilot to make an emergency landing. No one was hurt.

A K-State helicopter mechanic responded to the scene. The plan was to repair the mechanical problem, and then fly the helicopter back to Salina.
