MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State University police say a homeless man was caught breaking into a building on campus on Thanksgiving Day.
On November 22, 2012, the Kansas State University Police Department received a report of a burglary in progress at Rathbone Hall which is part of the engineering complex.
Officers responded and arrested Zachariah Martin Behling, 22.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available, police said.
It is unknown if this burglary is connected to the recent burglary at Seaton Hall on Nov. 18.
On November 18, 2012 the K-State Police responded to Seaton Hall for a report of computers and computer equipment stolen from rooms in the building. Mac computers along with monitors and other computer hardware were stolen between the hours of 4:00pm-9:00 p.m. The total loss in this burglary is over $10,000.
Behling’s bond was set at $5,000 he remains confined at the Riley County Jail.
Behling was arrested on charges of burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and aggravated escape from custody.
