Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - We now know the name of the man killed in an I-470 crash Sunday morning (8/5).
Curtis Harlan, 22, of Arma, was killed at the scene.
Officials say it happened at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, on I-470 eastbound, under the 25th Street bridge in Topeka.
Officials say a 1994 Saturn, driven by Kyle Snider, 41, of Topeka, was eastbound when he struck Harlan, a KNAPP construction employee who was working on the roadway.
The scene was closed as crews worked to clear it. The interstate was opened in both directions before noon Sunday, though concrete repair work continued in the area.
Kimberly Qualls of Kansas Department of Transportation is reminding people of work zone safety.
"Drivers, the heat is on and our crews are out working hard to improve our highways. Please give our workers plenty of room, be patient, focus on the road, and take it slow through the construction work zones."
