TOPEKA — We’re chatting about the Flu; are you? The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will host another live Twitter chat on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 3 to 4 p.m. This will be KDHE’s second live Twitter chat centered on Influenza; the first one was held September 30.

By logging onto www.twitter.com, following @KDHE and using the hashtag #KSflu, Kansans can ask questions about Flu vaccines, prevention methods and symptoms.

“I encourage all Kansans to take the necessary precautions to limit the spread of influenza,” explained Robert Moser, M.D., KDHE Secretary and State Health Officer. “Reducing and eliminating the spread of infectious diseases is a year-round concern. Keeping Kansans informed through all channels of communication is key during flu season, and I hope Kansans are able to participate in this live Twitter chat.”

If you’re not on Twitter, here's how to get started:

* Create an account at Twitter.com if for any reason, you don't have on yet.

* Search for our account under @KDHE and start following the account.

* On Friday at 2 p.m., visit Twitter.com and search for #KSflu. Save your search and you will be able to view real-time results of the chat.

* To join the conversation, tweet your question or comment and include the hashtag #KSflu in your tweet. Make sure the entire question or comment, including hashtag, is 140 characters or less.

* Refresh your page. You will be able to see your question appear in the conversation.
