WAMEGO, Kan. (WIBW) - A stretch of local highway will shut down for a Union Pacific railroad crossing replacement project.
K-99 in Wamego will close beginning at 6 am Wednesday. Drivers should expect some delays and must use alternate routes during the closure.
A marked detour will be provided. It takes traffic around Wamego using Highway 24, K-177 and I-70. K-18 south of Wamego remains closed, so it is not an option for a detour.
Local traffic may be able to use city streets to get around the work area.
K-99 through Wamego is set to reopen by Friday evening.
