Junction City Teen Arrested After Month-Long Drug Investigation

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- On April 19, 2012 the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group, assisted by Junction City-Geary County S.W.A.T., executed a search warrant at 25 Riley Manor Circle, Junction City, Kansas. The search warrant was obtained after a month long investigation by the Drug Operations Group into suspected drug activity at the residence.

The following person was arrested:

Devante Charles Moore, age 19 of Junction City. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Obstruction of Official Duty, Criminal Acquisition of Drug Proceeds, No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp, and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Moore was confined at the Geary County Detention Center pending his first appearance in the Geary County District Court.

The Drug Operations Group seized marijuana with an estimated street value of $850.00, over $3,500 currency, drug paraphernalia, electronic equipment, and a 2001 Ford Taurus.

The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group is a joint task force composed of members of the Junction City Police Department, Geary County Sheriff’s Department, and Grandview Plaza Police Department.
