TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A federal judge will hear arguments Wednesday in Secretary of State Kris Kobach's lawsuit over the release of voter names by Kansas county officials to candidates in a close legislative race.

Kobach hopes to block Democratic House member Ann Mah and Republican challenger Ken Corbet from contacting voters who cast provisional ballots in the 54th House District in the Topeka area.

Kobach contends officials in Douglas and Shawnee counties violated federal law by releasing the names of 131 voters.

U.S. District Judge J. Thomas Marten scheduled the hearing for Wednesday afternoon in Topeka.

Corbet leads Mah by 44 votes out of almost 11,000 cast. Both want to help voters correct potential problems so their ballots will be counted when Douglas and Shawnee county officials certify results Thursday.
