JCPD Arrest Two for Pot Possession

Junction City, Kan. (WIBW) - Officer Nick Blake of the Junction City Police Department stopped an eastbound 1999 GMC pickup pulling a pop-up camper trailer near Milepost 303 on I-70 for a tag violation Wednesday.

During the stop, Officer Blake became suspicious of the responses from the occupants and deployed his Police K-9 "Figo" around the vehicle and camper. He received a positive K-9 alert on the camper and a subsequent search of it revealed 31 pounds of "High Grade" marijuana concealed in the camper.

The marijuana has a street value of over $155,000.

Two West Virginia men were taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, and are being held at the Geary County Jail on a no bond hold pending their first appearance in Geary County District Court.

The men were identified as 24-year-old Jameson L. Holt of Harrison, West Virginia and 27-year-old Edward Prairie of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
