TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A fifth southwest Topeka burglary Wednesday has a family shaken up, as the only thing the intruder took was their toddler.

It happened in the 1100 block of SW High St. Resident Kyle Mead says he woke up to his wife screaming at around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Mead says an intruder pried open their back door with a crowbar, crept into a second floor bedroom, and snatched their two-year-old girl.

Mead's wife awoke to find the man sneaking down the stairs with their daughter. He says she screamed, and the two chased him out.

Mead found their daughter standing in the driveway unharmed, and nothing was taken from their home or shed.

"That's really the disturbing part of this is that, I hate to say this, but I mean we don't know if someone's been watching us, or I mean, it's not a good feeling," Kyle Mead said.

The toddler was not injured. Topeka Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a thin man wearing dark clothes, with a stocking cap pulled over his face.

If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at (785) 234-0007.
