HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) _ New figures show that enrollment at Hutchinson Community College grew more than at any other community college in Kansas last year.
The Hutchinson News reports (http://bit.ly/QLaH2O ) that according to numbers released by the Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday, Garden City Community College is a close second in enrollment growth.
Figures from the Kansas Board of Regents for fall 2012 show that Hutchinson Community College had a 10.77 percent increase from 2011, with 6,159 students. Garden City Community College was up 10.28 percent, with 2,059 students.
Overall enrollment slipped 0.15 percent at four-year Regents institutions and 0.19 percent at community colleges.
Enrollment at technical colleges across Kansas, however, grew. Enrollment at the six technical colleges stands 13.4 percent higher than last year.
