TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The man charged in the drunk driving death of a 15 year-old Topeka girl last year will not be sentenced Friday.
20 year-old Hunter Hillmer was to have been sentenced in the death of Maddie Naill this month. Last December, a jury found Hilmer guilty of unintentional second degree murder and other charges.
Hillmer's attorney, Wendell Betts is facing an April 24th court appearance himself on charges of domestic abuse and intimidation of a witness. Both charges involving his wife.
Judge Nancy Parrish granted a delay to May 17th, so Hillmer's new attorney has time to prepare for sentencing.
