TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A house fire had a stretch of Rochester Road in north Topeka closed off for a time Tuesday night.
Fire crews responded just before 9 pm to 3518 NW Rochester Road.
Fire crews had the fire under control within a half hour, however, traffic remained blocked on Rochester while crews finished work at the scene.
Fire officials say it appears the fire stemmed from an electrical problem in an upstairs closet. Firefighters had to tear out part of the wall to access the trouble spot. Damage was confined mainly to that area of the home.
No injuries were reported.
