Hearing Pushed Back For Accused Murderer

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A move to make sure an accused Topeka murderer stays behind bars, has been delayed.

A probation revocation hearing for Dustin Leftwich, 20, was pushed back. Prosecutors have said Leftwich was in the last week of his probation on a juvenile conviction for sex crimes against a 13-year-old girl, when prosecutors say he killed Brenna Morgart with his car. He was charged with her death in May.

Prosecutors may still ask for probation to be revoked. A scheduling date is set for November 15th.

A preliminary hearing in the murder case is set for August 29th.

Leftwich remains jailed on $1-million bond.
