RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Three people were injured in a weekend collision on US-77 in Riley County.
The accident happened Sunday, April 28, 2013 around 9 PM on US-77 near mile 187, nearly two miles North of US-24.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol on their crash log site, a 2009 Nissan Versa driven by Larissa Gibb, 31, of Lees Summit, Missouri, was one was Northbound on US-77.
Going in the opposite direction southbound on US-77 at the same location was a 1987 Chevy pick-up truck driven by Loren Gray, 64, of Manhattan.
Troopers say Larissa Gibb crossed over the center line into the southbound lane and Loren Gray went onto the shoulder in an attempt to avoid a crash.
Gibb ended up striking the pick-up head-on partially on the shoulder and partially in the roadway, according to the crash log.
Larissa Gibb was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with injuries.
Loren Gray was also injured and taken to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan along with his passenger, 32-year-old Ningbo Li of Manhattan.
