TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - One week ago at this time, we were just learning the details of the tornado that ripped through Harveyville, killing one and injuring 13 others.
The city is now in the process of organizing groups of volunteers and assigning them to specific clean-up tasks.
Only three or four buildings are left for demolition, something that Mayor Dustin Kuntz says is part of the healing process.
"People are starting to talk about rebuilding," Kuntz said. "People that feel that they want to rebuild are starting to sit down and really look at the financial viability of rebuilding to determine if it really fits within their budget."
Mayor Kuntz says most people want to stay in the community. He has only heard of one family who will not rebuild.
