SYRACUSE, Kan. (AP) -- Voters in Hamilton County approved a $6.4 million bond issue for the county's only school district in Syracuse.
The money from the bonds will be used to build an agricultural-educational building and make several athletic improvements, such as a new gymnasium, football turf and an eight-lane track.
The Hutchinson News reports unofficial results showed the issue passed by a 358-265 with 28 provisional ballots. Forty-nine percent of the eligible voters cast ballots.
About $1 million in state aid is available for the project.
