The following information came from the office of State Rep. Sharon Schwartz:

MARYSVILLE, Kan. - More than 500 pounds of sizzling Kansas rib-eye steaks will be served to active duty soldiers, Veterans and their families on Saturday, November 5th at the American Legion Hall, 310 N. 19th Street in Marysville. The All American Beef Battalion will host the cookout following a short ceremony.

“These are some of the most courageous, decorated and successful soldiers who are either serving or have served our nation,” said Representative Sharon Schwartz. “Our state and country owe them and their families a great debt for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice. Their performance and courage serve as an inspiration for all Kansans. The steak feed is a great way to say thank you.”

Organized in August 2007, the All American Beef Battalion is a group made of individuals within the United States beef cattle industry. They work to organize and sponsor steak feeds, entertainment and programs with service members and their families stationed in the United States and abroad.

The meal is funded by donations from businesses, banks, farmers, ranchers and individuals in the surrounding area of Marshall, Nemaha and Washington Counties.
