MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Day number two of the Kicker Country Stampede Presented by Verizon Wireless was action packed and topped off with pleasant weather.
Bush Hawg, a newly signed group making waves in country music, kicked off the show with their hard edged rock inspired sound. They were followed by a rousing performance by Southern rock group Parmalee. Fan favorite, and hip hop influenced country artist Colt Ford took the stage next, getting thousands of fans moving, and being joined on stage by an early appearance by Jake Owen. Owen officially took the stage at 7:30 performing several of his hits to an excited crowd. Country music super star Jason Aldean took the stage, closing the show with a packed house of very enthusiastic fans.
At 7:00 pm everybody was turned away from the stage as fans were treated to Cowboy Kenny's Steel rodeo on the opposite side of the festival grounds. The Steel Rodeo is a display of death-defying aerial acrobatics by motocross legend Kenny Bartram and his team, brought to festival fans by Country Stampede title sponsor Kicker. They will be performing again at 7:00 pm on Saturday and 5:30 on Sunday.
The Big 94.5 Country announced on stage and via a fun Twitter contest that multi-platinum recording artist Eric Church will be a headliner at the 2014 Country Stampede. Twenty-fourteen tickets are available at the advance ticket sales booth at the front of the stage. A four-day general admission ticket is only $85 during this weekend.
Saturday features country music legend Trace Adkins, American Idol winner and platinum recording artist Scotty McCreery, American Idol's Casey James, a high energy show by LoCash Cowboys, and 94.5 Country Road to Stampede winners in a tie Tyler Ahlgren and Belles and Whistles. Normal parking and gate times will resume. Parking lots will open at 8 am with gates opening at 1 pm.
The 2013 will go off on a bang on Sunday with Miranda Lambert taking the stage at 8:00 pm. Preceded by performances by Randy Houser, Morgan Frazier, and CrossCountry.
