Governor Makes Appointment To The 29th Judicial District

Topeka – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback today announced the appointment of Kansas City attorney Bill L. Klapper to the 29th Judicial District of the State of Kansas. Klapper will take the seat of retiring Judge Jan A. Way.

“Bill’s experience as an attorney and as permanent pro tem judge in Wyandotte County will serve Kansans of the 29th Judicial District well,” Governor Brownback said.

Klapper currently is a practicing attorney and permanent pro tem judge in the juvenile division in Wyandotte County, Kan. He earned his B.B.A. from Washburn University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake Law School in Iowa.

The state’s 105 counties are organized into 31 Judicial Districts. The district courts serve as the trial courts for the state, overseeing all civil and criminal cases. The 29th District covers the entirety of Wyandotte County.
