Gov. Brownback and 40 Kansas children shared story time and the Kansas State Library and kicked off the 3rd annual Read Kansas Read.
'Read Kansas Read' is a statewide summer reading program promoted by the Kansas Book Festival, Kansas State Library, Kansas State Department of Education and the Governors Office to remind students to read while they are out of school for the summer.
In September the Governor and First Lady will name the top readers in each age group with an awards ceremony. All participants will be entered to wing a $500 grant from the Kansas Book Festival.
