Governor Appoints Kansas Securities Commissioner

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--Gov. Sam Brownback has nominated Joshua Ney for the Kansas Securities Commissioner.

Ney currently serves as the Interim Securities Commissioner. He joined the office in 2011 as a Special Assistant Attorney General and Policy Staff Attorney.

Before joining the office, Ney served on the Kansas Human Rights Commission and was the First Assistant County Attorney in Jefferson County.

Ney received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern College in Minnesota and his Juris Doctorate from Washburn School of Law.

His appointment still needs to be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
