TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The state of Kansas has a new Secretary of Agriculture.
Governor Sam Brownback announced Jackie McClaskey as the new Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, succeeding Dale Rodman,who will step down from the position effective December 10th.
McClaskey grew up in Manhattan and has been with the Department of Agriculture since 2011.
She served as an Assistant Secretary before being named Deputy Secretary in July.
Before joining the state agriculture department McClaskey served as Assistant Dean of the K-State, College of Agriculture.
