HUGOTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will be joined by other local and state officials in Hugoton Thursday to break ground for the town's newest business, Kansas Dairy Ingredients. The plant will process diary ingredient and cheese.
The $20 million project was announced in April. The company plans to create 60 full-time jobs. Phase 1 of construction is slated to be complete in late 2012.
Joining the governor at the ground breaking will be Commerce Secretary Pat George, Agriculture Secretary Dale Rodman, Kansas Dairy Ingredients CEO Brent Davis, and COO Tim Gomez, along with other state and local officials.
The new plant will be built .4 miles east of Hugoton along Highway 51.
