TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Family Service and Guidance Center celebrated a special gift Friday.
The organization unveiled a plaque honoring the late Cindy Juby. Juby donated $1.4 million from her estate to Family Service and Guidance Center's Securing Brighter Futures campaign.
Juby passed away earlier this year. She was a member of the FSGC Foundation's Legacy Society, which is a group of donors who remember the organization in their estate plans.
Juby's father, Earl Meltzer, was on hand for the presentation. He received thank you cards from some of the children served by the agency.
The campaign is raising money for the agency's endowment, ensuring FSGC's long-term viability. Juby's donation leaves them just $400,000 shy of their $2.3 million goal.
