TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A memorial walk was held Saturday to honor one special Topekan.
Friends and family took a part in the Deb Flint Memorial Walk at the Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee.
Deb Flint was a lifelong Shawnee County resident who dedicated her time and efforts to the community. She died of breast cancer in 2007 and friends and family have held the annual event since.
Her daughter Alex Flint shared how happy she was that everyone came out to remember her mother.
"It makes us feel so good because she knew so many people and touched so many people and to see everyone out here is just a great feeling," she said.
Proceeds raised from the walk go towards the Friends of Ted Ensley Garden Endowment and to scholarships for Shawnee Heights High School students.
