TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - People had the chance to enjoy a concert Wednesday night.and also help a Topeka family coping with a double tragedy.
The Topeka Chamber's Fast Forward group hosted a benefit concert at Uncle Bo's in the downtown Ramada to help the Kelsey family.
Brenda and Sean Kelsey's daughter, Rebecca, died at just six days old. On top of that, Brenda suffered a massive stroke during childbirth.
Money raised at Wednesday night's concert will help make wheelchair-accessible improvements to the Kelsey home while Brenda undergoes rehab. The couple also has a two-year-old son, Oliver.
Fast Forward wanted to stage an event to help the family since both Brenda and Sean are active in the group through their workplaces, Architect One and Bartlett and West.
