Fort Riley Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

FORT RILEY, Kan. (KAKE/WIBW) -- A soldier based in Fort Riley has died from injuries while serving in the war on terror.

The Department of Defense said Pfc. Cody O. Moosman, 24, died Tuesday, in Gayan Alwara Mandi, Afghanistan. Officials said enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

Pfc. Moosman was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

His hometown is listed as Preston, Idaho.
