Fort Riley, Kan. - Fort Riley in coordination with the Kansas Department of Transportation and the surrounding communities has agreed to implement new traffic control measures at exit 301 off Interstate 70, to assist with access to the post by soldiers, family members and visitors during peak arrival hours.
The decision to change traffic and ease access to the post was made to mitigate the traffic problems and safety concerns at exit 301 off
Effective Feb. 13 the following regulations will apply between 5 a.m.
and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, excluding training holidays and
* Only inbound traffic will be allowed on Henry Drive; there will
be no outbound traffic.
* All outbound traffic on Henry Dr will be directed around Ray
Road to the airfield and all inbound traffic going to the airfield will
be directed to Smoky Hill. In essence, drivers will be able to enter the
installation and get to work. Drivers going to the airfield will be
directed to the airfield.
* Drivers will not be allowed to use Henry Drive to exit the post
between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
* No large vehicles or tractor trailers may use Henry Gate between
5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
