FORT RILEY, Kan. -- The Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, conducted a change of command ceremony May 2 on Fort Riley's Marshall Army Airfield.

The "Demon" Brigade offered a fond farewell to Col. John M. Morgan and welcomed Col. Matthew R. Lewis. Morgan, who commanded the brigade for two years, oversaw the modernization of the Big Red One's aviation formation including the arrival of the Army's newest versions of several airframes.

Morgan is scheduled to retire in early 2014.

Lewis returns to Fort Riley following an assignment at Harvard University where he was a National Security Fellow and Senior Military Fellow for Harvard's Future Diplomacy Project. Lewis was last assigned to the Big Red One formation during the CAB's deployment to Iraq from 2010-2011.
