FORT RILEY, Kan. - The Fort Riley Army Education Center will host the first annual "Fort Riley, Kansas Education Fair" from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on November 13 at Riley's Conference Center.

This fair will highlight educational opportunities for service members, their families, Veterans and individuals in the surrounding communities. More than 80 educational institutions from across the country will attend to provide guidance on higher education and their programs.

Education Counselors from Fort Riley will be on hand to assist with degree selection, financial assistance, signing up for classes and other facets of the Army education system. The Veterans Administration will also attend to assist with questions concerning VA educational programs.

In preparation, participants should bring any records pertaining to their past education accomplishments such as transcripts and proof of high school graduation. In addition, service members and Veterans should bring evidence of military training such as a copy of their Enlisted Records Brief for current soldiers, DD FM 214 for Veterans, Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcripts (AARTS) and any other certifications they have received.

This event is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about the various educational instructions and programs available, from Universities to Technical training, from Master's degrees to certificates in specialized professions. This fair will also be an asset to those currently attending high school and those service members working on transitioning to the civilian world.

Ruth Greiner, Fort Riley Education Services Specialist said, "We have had great success in recruiting schools. School representatives are really excited about attending the fair and we now have more than 80 different schools attending the event."
