Police: Fort Riley Soldier Died Of Self-Inflicted Wound In Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Junction City Police Dept. identified the Fort Riley soldier found dead in a Junction City apartment on Monday. Shawn Michael Thomas died following a single gunshot wound, they said.

Autopsy results released on Wednesday indicated Thomas' wound was self-inflicted and police say they do not see any signs of foul play.

He was found in an apartment at 1731 North Park Dr. in Junction City.

The 26 year-old Thomas was assigned to 31st AV, E Co., Fort Riley.
