Former Heritage Bank Executive Ordered To Pay Restitution

Jennifer Hughes-Boyles exists U.S. District Court after guilty plea

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Federal judge has ordered a former Heritage Bank executive to pay more than half a million dollars in restitution.

Former Heritage Bank Vice President Jennifer Hughes-Boyles, 40, pleaded guilty to bank fraud in February.

She admitted she defrauded the bank nearly $3-million by falsifying loan applications from unqualified buyers to whom she sold real estate.

During testimony, the bank's President and CEO said the fraud cost the bank more than $700-thousand.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports US District Judge Richard Rogers ordered Hughes-Boyles to pay back more than $712-thousand.

Her sentencing is set for August 16th.
