Former Healing Arts Director Loses Suit
TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW) -- The former director of the State Board of Healing Arts has lost his lawsuit charging the agency with a bad faith effort to negotiate terms of his severance.
Jack Confer filed a request for judicial review in December of 2009 after being asked to resign his healing arts job in October of that year.
Now, a 13 News review of Shawnee County court documents indicates the court found Confer failed to prove the existence of a binding settlement agreement or that the board had acted unlawfully or been unreasonable in negotiating his severance.
That decision came last December 30, and Confer does have a right to appeal.
