TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A former employee is suing Washburn University and its Dean of Libraries, Dr. Alan Bearman, for sexual harassment.

Court records show Michelle Canipe filed the suit May 9th.

According to court documents, Canipe began working in the library as an instructional librarian in January 2010. She alleges Bearman harassed colleagues. In one instance, she says he introduced her to a practicing Muslim, calling him a "terrorist." She alleges Bearman also once punched the man in the head.

Canipe also alleges Bearman touched or readjusted himself very frequently without an attempt to mask the gesture.

The lawsuit is seeking at least $75,000 damages on each of five different counts.
