Discounted tickets are available online prior to the event at

TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)__ Forbes Field will host the largest gathering of vintage planes in Kansas running from August 2-4.

You may notice some unusual airplanes flying in to Topeka. C-47's, C-1A's, P-51's and other vintage airplanes will make their way in for the Gathering of Warbirds and Legends air show.

The event lasts for three days and organizers are urging residents and visitors to come out to support the event.

The cost alone for fuel is incredibly expensive for aircraft owners to bring the planes in from all over the United States. If the event sees a big turnout this year, organizers would like to make it an annual event.

Even though you wont see stunt planes and aerial acrobatics, what will be on display is just as amazing. Attendees will get the chance to participate in plane rides and tours in aircraft that actually flew missions during war.

Some of the damage from combat will still be visible.
