Florida Teen Behind Bars In Kansas, Accused In Several Residential Burglaries

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - A 17-year-old visiting from Florida is behind bars, accused in several residential burglaries near Junction City.

Junction City Police say the juvenile was observed Wednesday walking behind a home in the 200 block of South Eisenhower, then breaking in as officers approached.

Police say he led officers on a short foot chase before they took him into custody.

He's being held on 11 counts of burglary and theft, four counts of damage to property and felony obstruction.

Police say a search of his temporary residence turned up several items believed to be stolen.

The suspect is currently being held in Geary County Juvenile Detention.
