TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ Topeka police are about to end the year, still searching for who killed five people in the capital city in 2010. There were 16 murders this year, compared to 12 last year.
Antonio Booker was shot and killed on January 9th, in the 1400-block of S.W. Van Buren. That case remains unsolved, as well as the June slaying of 41-year-old Ronald Grier on S.E. Lake.
Police also have not found who is behind the August murder of 31-year-old David Martinez in Topeka's Highland Crest neighborhood. Police also are still investigating the death of 28-year-old Valerie Gladney, who was found dead in a ditch in August.
The murder of 26-year-old Courtney Cortez Dowd, near the 19-hundred block of Wanamaker Road remains open as well.
Police are still looking for 24-year-old Eddie Anthony Gordon in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Vincent Lambert on NE Winfield in November.

Two of the murders this year, were the result of homeowners shooting alleged intruders. District Attorney Chad Taylor has decided not to file charges against the homeowners in either incident.
