TOPEKA Kan. (WIBW) -- Shawnee County Dispatch told 13 News that Fire crews were called to the 1400 block of S.E. Morrison just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
Firefighters told us that when they arrived, flames were showing from the back and the house was fully involved in flames. They said it took firefighters about 25 minutes to get the blaze under control.
Firefighters said there was no one was inside at the time of the fire and that the house had been vacant for at least a year. They also told 13 news that there was electricity supplied to the house, but there was no electrical meter box. The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire officials. The home was a total loss.
