TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A transmission fire two miles south of Reading knocked out power to more than 3,000 Westar Energy customers.
A viewer told 13 News that power initially went out for a short time mid-morning, then again around 11:30 am. The Santa Fe Trail school district was among those impacted. Superintendent Steve Pegram says all buildings were without power for a time. Shawnee Heights Superintendent Marty Stessman says his district lost power briefly at the high school, middle school, Tecumseh South Elementary and the central office.
Westar Energy said power was retored for everyone around 1:30 pm.
