Fire Fighters Prepare For Pink Fire Truck Tour

TOPEKA, Kan. -- On August 9th the Topeka Fire Department, Soldier Township Fire Department, Mission Township Fire Department and Topeka Fire Fighters Local 83 are hosting the Pink Heals Tour.

The nationally recognized charity, whose mission is to provide a national movement for the support of women across the country, traveling in pink fire trucks and wearing her color -pink- and supporting ALL types of Cancer relief efforts.

The primary focus is on women as a whole in whatever form of Cancer they battle.

Cancer survivors are encouraged to sign the pink fire trucks as a traveling memorial that bear the signatures and sentiments of Survivors and loving tributes to those that have lost their lives to this terrible disease.

Mayor Bunten will be at SW 9th St. at 11:00 am to make a proclamation supporting Cancer Awareness.

The Tour will be at the following locations:

8:30 am to 10:30 am

11:00 am to 1:00 pm
SW 9th St. between S. Kansas Ave and SW Jackson St.

1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Soldier Township Fire Dept- 600 NW 46th St
Mission Township Fire Dept- 3101 SW Urish Rd
TFD Station #5- 720 SW 21st St

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
North- Hwy 24 & Rochester Rd
Southwest- 29th & Urish Rd
21st & Fairlawn

5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
