Topeka, KAN. (WIBW)—“It’s so pretty… It’s Our Lady of Guadalupe and Jesus on the cross,” said Fiesta Art Exhibit visitor Jeimmy Perez.

“The kids come through and love that picture. That’s what we grew up with around the barriro here at Our Lady of Guadalupe,” said Fiesta Art Coordinator Joey Rocha

Religion may be the focus of some art but history’s another.

“The train coming through the wall brought the Mexican community here in the first place,” said artist Andy Valdivia

And of course… family.

“That’s Patty and I when we first got married on our first sofa,” said Valdivia.

60 to 70 displays showcase Topeka’s talent to translate their message into a work of art… With each Topekan setting their own goal.

“It keeps my past alive,” said Valdivia

Here at the 13th annual Fiesta Art Exhibit photographs, paintings, sculptures, and needle work all represent the barriro community and other Topeka art.
