Father & Son Threatened With Bow And Arrow

GEARY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Geary County authorities are investigating a bizarre encounter outside of a convenience store.

On Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 8:30 PM, deputies responded to BJ's convenience store near the intersection of US-77 North and K-57 Highway for a report of an aggravated assault.

Officials say the victim, his wife and his five-year-old son were at the business at that time. The victim reported that while he and his son were waiting for his wife to come out of the store, an intoxicated man in a white Dodge truck aimed a bow and arrow at his vehicle while he and his child were in it.

According to reports from the Geary County Sheriff's Office, once the intoxicated individual realized there was a little boy in the vehicle, he put the bow away and fled the scene.

The case is still under investigation. No further details are available. It is not known if the suspect said anything to the victims during the incident. The names of the victims were not released nor was a description of the suspect.

The victim and his son were not injured.
