TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A head-on collision killed one man and injured three others Thursday morning on a two-lane highway in Wabaunsee county.
Around 5:30 a.m. Thursday a red passenger car traveling north on K-4 Highway went left of center and collided head on with a white van.
The van came to rest on the road after the force of the impact first sent it off of the road and into a pole.
The man in the car died at the scene.
Lifestar transported one occupant from the van to an area hospital, two others were transported by ambulance to Stormont-Vail. A fourth occupant was not treated.
All lanes of K-4 highway between Mission Valley Road and Military Trail Road remaind closed as of 10 a.m. Thursday morning, but was set to reopen before noon.
The accident happened around 1.5 miles north of Eskridge.
The identity of the man killed is being withheld pending family notification.
