SILVER LAKE, Kan. (WIBW) - A Silver Lake family is saying thank you for the love and support the community has shown since their house burned down last Sunday night.

The Pearson-Martin family, including parents Heather and Greg and four children, lost everything is the fire. The community has given clothing, household items, even a medical bed for Greg, who is paralyzed.

In addition, cash donations are being accepted at Silver Lake High School's bank or Silver Lake Bank branches. Friday night, volunteers cleaned up a temporary home for the family so they could move in over the weekend.

Debra Whitehead, the mother of Heather Pearson, wrote an email to 13 News stating, "I would like to thank the people of Silver Lake for all they have done to help my daughter and her family! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!"
