TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local school has a new place to play in memory of a former student.

Luke Savage received a heart transplant when he was six weeks old and later overcame lymphoma. Sadly, Luke died in October 2012 of a sudden infection. He was just six-years old.

Tuesday, his parents used his memorial fund to install a new slide at the Topeka Lutheran School's playground. His father, Darrel, said it was a good way to remember Luke and his joyful spirit. A sign posted at the site bears Luke's name and the words, "Play with all your heart."

Luke's parents have also set up a ministry called the "Luke Squad," which is the name they used for Luke's Heart Walk team each year. They send a postcard with a personal note and the book "Heaven Is for Real" to people to spread the word about God.
