TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW) -- The Kansas Children's Discovery Center hosted National Child Care Appreciation Day Saturday.
Northeast Kansans helped celebrate their child care providers. Kids and their parents made cards to express their appreciation, and advocates say the reason why it is held so close to Mother's Day is because child care providers are like second moms to the kids they teach.
Advocated also say they are grateful for local partners like the Kansas Children's Discovery Center for giving families a chance to say thank you.
