TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library board will meet in executive session Wednesday to discuss safety.
Members are scheduled to convene at 4:00 p.m. to discuss changes to the state's concealed carry law.
The board must decide whether it wants to fund nearly $100,000 in upgrades to meet requirements to continue prohibiting weapons in the building.
They then have three options for continued annual expenses for adding civilian staff and armed security... up to $150,000 a year.
Board members will talk behind closed doors -- citing an open meetings exemption for security issues.
